In-District Enrollment Process
If you need to register a student for the current school year, please follow the steps outlined below. The entire registration process will take place online.
To start the K-12 registration process:
1. please create a final forms parent account by cLICKing HERE
Please click on "Add Student" and be sure to click "Create Student" in order to save.
2. Please upload the following documentation to your student's documents folder in Final Forms.

Copy of original birth certificate or passport

Immunization records

Parent / Guardian Driver's License

Custody or court papers (if applicable)

IEP or 504 documents (if applicable).

Two (2) Proof of residency documents; such as utility bills (AES, CenterPoint or water bill ONLY), a rental or lease agreement, a deed or a settlement statement
The parent or guardian's names MUST APPEAR on the legal proof of residency document.
If the documents are in any other person's name, THAT person must sign a notarized Affidavit/Proof of District Residence.
4. After registration is complete, a start date will be scheduled for your student.
Open Enrollment Process
Yellow Springs Schools is excited to offer open enrollment opportunities for grades K - 12. Our schools offer small student-to-teacher ratios along with hands-on, student-centered project-based learning opportunities.

Current Open Enrollment Families
Submit the Re-Enrollment Form between 8:00 a.m. February 15 and 4:00 p.m. on the last day of March.
Students approved and enrolled in Yellow Springs Schools through open enrollment may continue in the District through all grades without reapplying so long as they indicate in writing their intent to remain enrolled on or before the last day of March for the current school year. If a Re-Enrollment Form is not provided on or before the last day of March for the current school year, families will have to apply as a new family.
New Families
New families can apply online, here, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on April 1. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on October 15.
Paper applications are available at the school buildings and the Yellow Springs Schools Board of Education office at 888 Dayton St., Suite 106 (Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
Notice of Approval and Acceptance of Offer
Notice of approval will begin on May 1. Parents/guardians are required to submit a Letter of Acceptance within one week (7 days) of notice of acceptance. If this letter is not submitted, the acceptance will be considered declined and parents/guardians must re-submit an open enrollment application to begin the process again.
Enrollment Priority
Enrollment priority shall be given to resident native students. Such students may not be refused attendance in the District, regardless of capacity. Resident native students also include those as defined by R.C. 3313.64.
Siblings
To the extent possible, siblings of current open enrollment students will be given preference provided enrollment procedures are met.
Children of Employees
To the extent possible, children of employees will be given preference after siblings of open-enrollment students, provided enrollment procedures are met.
Other
Any applications not fitting the above priority classifications will be considered in the order in which they are received.
Waitlist
If a grade level is full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list following the outlined priority order listed above.
Important Information about Kindergarten Applicants
A child must be age-eligible in their home district (district of residence) before they can apply for open enrollment in another district.
Yellow Springs Schools will not conduct kindergarten screenings for open enrollment students who are not 5 years of age by September 30th.

Open Enrollment Eligibility
Please note that not all districts allow resident students to open enroll elsewhere such as Fairborn City and Mad River Local Schools. Please check with your resident district before applying.
Address Change
Have you moved? Addresses and phone numbers can be updated through your Final Forms account. Please upload your new proof of residency to complete the change in our system.
Withdrawal
To withdraw from Yellow Springs Schools please submit a Withdrawal Form .
Please return all school-issued materials at the time of withdrawal (Chromebooks, library books, instruments, etc.)
Preschool
Preschool service for Yellow Springs residents is offered through the Greene County Educational Service Center.

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration opens April 1st for any child who will be five years old by September 30th. Parents or Guardians may register by using the link below to create a Final Forms account.

You will be contacted at a later date to sign up for Kindergarten Screening.
Kindergarten Eligibility and Assessment
A child is eligible for entrance into kindergarten if s/he attains the age of five (5) on or before September 30th of the year in which he/she applies for entrance. The Board may admit a younger child to kindergarten if the child satisfies the Board's early entrance criteria. Kindergarten students will then complete a Kindergarten Assessment, which will be scheduled after the child has been registered.
Early Entrance to Kindergarten
A child must turn 5 on or before September 30th of the year in which he/she would like to be admitted to kindergarten. A younger child may be admitted to kindergarten if he/she satisfies the Board of Education's early entrance criteria.
