Mental Health and Wellness
Yellow Springs has three full-time school counselors, two school-based mental health counselors (one part-time & one full-time, and one school psychologist. Our school counselors support students, families, and staff by providing individual consultation, group support sessions, prevention services programming, and referrals to community resources. Our middle school and high school counselors also work with the building programming to provide career exploration services and assistance for accessing college and post-graduate resources. Our school-based mental health services receive referrals from our school counselors and the building teams, who regularly review student needs. Our school psychologist provides consultation and assessment services for determining eligibility for special education and disability services. The school psychologist also serves as the building 504-disability plan coordinator when a medical or psychological condition requires specialized accommodations.
