Yellow Springs Educator Kevin Lydy has earned recognition as a 2018 Yale Educator Award recipient.
Mr. Lydy, a social studies teacher at Yellow Springs High School, is one of 59 teachers and 28 counselors who received this year’s award, chosen from a pool of 371 nominees.
The Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions awards the Yale Educator honor annually to outstanding educators from around the world who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence.
Students who are matriculating to Yale College are invited to nominate high school educators; Mr. Lydy was nominated by 2018 YSHS graduate Peter Day. A committee of Yale admissions officers reviews each nomination individually and selects recipients.
The Yale admissions office attributes the exceptional quality of the Yale student body to educators like these recipients of the 208 Yale Educator Award, who shape their students long before they attend Yale.
Congratulations to Mr. Lydy for receiving this recognition!
