Good Afternoon Yellow Springs Students and Families,
At last night’s meeting, the board of education approved a 100% full-time return to school for students beginning Monday, April 5, 2021. This was at my recommendation which was based on several factors, most notably decreasing COVID-19 metrics in Greene County and Yellow Springs, as well as updated health research and guidance indicating the need for students to be in school full-time. My full remarks to the board are posted below for you to read, as well as links to the reports I used to guide this decision.
To begin on April 5 and give teachers a day of preparation, we will follow the schedule below for the week of March 29:
Monday, March 29 |
GROUP A |
Tuesday, March 30 |
GROUP B |
Wednesday, March 31 |
GROUP A |
Thursday, April 1 |
GROUP B |
Friday, April 2 |
NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS |
By the end of the day, Monday, March 15, you will also find posted information about our protocols for health and safety; face coverings; classrooms; cleaning procedures; lunch procedures; hallways and recess; and transportation. We will be working extremely hard so that everything is ready for a safe and successful return.
Building principals will send detailed information about specific procedures for each building, particularly for lunch. Please be aware that the United States Department of Agriculture has approved waivers through the end of the school year so that all students can have free lunch. Morning transportation times for students who receive district transportation will stay the same.
Do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s principal should you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students, staff, and community safe.
Sincerely,

Dr. Terri L. Holden
Superintendent
