Update from Yellow Springs Schools Superintendent

Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020

Good evening, YS Students and Families,

As you are all aware, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 11th, we will have students in the buildings for one-to-one tutoring, counseling sessions, and other limited school social activities.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, it is imperative that we all follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines to protect our students as well as ourselves.

Prior to sending your child to our tutoring sessions that begin tomorrow, please do a health assessment at home. Do not send your child if she/he exhibits any signs of illness: fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, body aches, etc.

Please remember to:

  • Wear a mask! This is REQUIRED. The risk of contracting the virus can be reduced significantly if consistent mask-wearing guidelines are followed.

  • Maintain a minimum of six feet of social distancing.

  • Wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

You can find updated COVID-19 Back to School Guidance for Greene County Schools from Greene County Public Health here on our website.

The success of this endeavor will only be possible if we all adhere to these guidelines.

Thank you for your support of Yellow Springs Schools.  Let’s work together to keep each other, and our staff and students safe.

Dr. Terri L. Holden
