Dear future MMS Students & Families,
I hope this communication finds you doing well. Due to the circumstances created by the pandemic, we were not able to hold our traditional McKinney Middle School visit this year. This visit typically eliminates uncertainty and starts planting seeds of comfort for students as they transition to middle school. Since social distancing will not allow us to bring additional students into our classrooms, we plan to have an extended visit in mid-August, allowing the students to get comfortable with the layout of our building and to start meeting their new teachers prior to their first official day of school. In the meantime, we will be hosting family visits in the evenings this week.
On Wednesday, May 19, we will be hosting a visit prior to the instrumental music concert. We will begin in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. We will go through an overview of the middle school, answer questions students and families may have, and then will tour the building. We will conclude in time for the students to prepare for their concert. On Thursday, May 20, we will host the same visit for students and families beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
We hope students and families are able to attend one of these evenings. We are excited to share the great things going on at McKinney Middle School and to answer any questions you may have.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact our front office at 767-7224 for help. Thank you for your continued support.
